Originally from Louisiana, Harrison grew up immersed in Cajun, Louisiana blues, swamp pop, New Orleans brass bands, and Zydeco. Later, he left for Nashville to pursue his musical quest, but never jettisoned his early sonic influences.

When it came time to lay down tracks for Living With Ghosts, Harrison returned to his Louisiana roots, mustering the talents of Louisiana’s elite musicians: Jesse Reaux, Lance Kelehan, and Jordan Ardoin of The Rayo Brothers, Jim McGee on lead guitar, and the harmonica expertise of Fawn Larson, as well as Fats Kaplin on pedal steel, fiddle, and accordion. Naming this celebrity assembly of players The Freetown Flyers, the group recorded at Wirebird Studios under the guidance of Grammy nominated producer Brett Stewart.

According to Harrison, “I’ve been playing with these guys for a long time and we just speak the same musical language.”

Harrison’s rich, dulcet voice imbues the lyrics with affluent velvety textures rife with nostalgia and emotional relief.

“I’m Over Thinking About You” opens on gleaming guitar riffs flowing into an infectious country tune flavored with Louisiana swamp savors embellished with bluegrass aromas. A rolling rhythm infuses the tune with potent head-over-heels cadence, as glittering layers of guitars, piano, and banjos coalesce into a delicious harmonic confection, full of tantalizing wisps of affection now tainted by recollection.

A breakdown infused with gracefully glistening guitar colors topped by Harrison’s mellow tones provides a sweet harmonic shift, and then mousses back up to glossy resonance.

“I been thinking about what you’re thinking / And wondering about the words I said / All this thinking has got me drinking / Trying to get the weight off my chest.”

“I’m Over Thinking About You” is wonderfully superb, full of a contagious rhythmic flow, shimmering surface hues, and the scrumptious voice of Will Payne Harrison.
