Lesibu Grand - The Legend Of Miranda

Lesibu Grand will release The Legend of Miranda, a five-track collection of music, on October 4. Two singles from the EP, “Hush Hush” and “Miranda,” were recently released to tremendous response.

Lesibu Grand, pronounced Le-SEE-boo Grand , features the vocal talent of Tyler-Simone Molton, who grew up listening to eclectic styles of music, including Outkast, Eryka Badu, Lil Wayne, Talking Heads, Blondie, the Clash, Green Day, and Nirvana.

On June 28, 2017, she chanced upon John Renaud at The Earl in East Atlanta, where the Pains of Being Pure at Heart were performing. Renaud had moved from New England to Georgia while playing for alt-rock band Crab Daddy. The result of the meeting was a wave of new songs, written over the course of thirty days.

Adding Brian Turner (guitar), Lee Wiggins (drums), and Chris Case (keyboards), Tyler-Simone and Renaud named the band Lesibu Grand, derived from Tyler Simone’s middle name, which her maternal grandfather bestowed upon her.

“Hush Hush,” the band’s debut single, delves into the concepts of uncertainty and lack of confidence prevalent in today’s digital world, eliciting tangs of Blondie, The Motels, and Berlin. On its part, “Miranda” emanates a Pixies-like extract, narrating the tale of a couple trying to maintain their relationship during the ‘50s, when, suddenly, they are thrust into the future, where their ardor for one another rekindles.

Tyler Simone’s voice imbues the lyrics with elusive, tantalizing timbres.

“Hush Hush” opens on a potent throbbing rhythm topped by new wave tinctures, as Tyler Simone’s delicious tones glide overhead, infusing the lyrics with tasty melodicism. “Miranda” rides tight alt-rock flavors supported by a taut, crisp groove and brawny guitar riffs. Tyler Simone’s voice imbues the lyrics with elusive, tantalizing timbres.

Another superb song on the EP is “Running Around,” featuring retro guitar riffs and Go-Go’s-like vibrancy full of bright, breezy textures. “Only American In The Room” rides austere gleaming guitars flowing into a jangly-laced melody rife with scrumptious buoyant vocals.

“Mi Sueno” travels on a creamy, sensuous Traffic-prog-like melody flavored with seductive undulating Latin savors backed by oozing horns. This might be the best track on the EP because of its velvety rippling flow.

Lesibu Grand deliver nuanced sonic textures, compelling rhythms, penetrating guitars, and the scrumptious voice of Tyler-Simone Molton. The full EP should provide more excellent music.
