ARZALEZ RELEASES CAPTIVATING ‘PREGUNTAME ALGO’

South Texas indie-rock/reggaeton artist Arzalez recently released “Preguntame Algo” (Ask Me Something), from his forthcoming sophomore album, Aquel Futuro Ahora.

The upcoming album was recorded by three-time Grammy-winning engineer Tre Nagella at Luminous Sound Studio. While his first album, El MIsmo Dicho En Mis Palabras, exposed Arzalez’s dramatic past, the imminent album, Aquel Futuro Ahora, presents an optimistic posture looking ahead.

Speaking to his unique, provocative sound, Arzalez says, “I am truly, heavily influenced by everything around me! I'm a very influential writer, and I consume myself in every word I choose to say. Art in Itself! Viva Musica!”

According to Arzalez, his stage name “is a combination of both my parents’ surnames Garza/Gonzalez … and very proud of it.”

The mood of the music embraces powerful affection, as well as the desire for emotional devotion.

“Preguntame Algo” opens on potent rolling tones of reggaeton riding a cool dembow riddim, reflecting mariachi aromas. Rich, vibrant vocals echoing a hip-hop-lite flow infuse the lyrics with sensuous quixotic textures, mirroring the contagious harmonic flood.

The syncopated beat, along with the cavernous bassline, provides a delicious contrast to the gleaming colors riding on trembling, tantalizing tones overhead. The mood of the music embraces powerful affection, as well as the desire for emotional devotion.

"Ask me something / If you want to know about me, just ask / I'm hoping that yes nothing scares me / We grew up together that I could never / Hide nothing, nothing from you my life / I learned to live with you, I don't doubt it mom / Such a young love grew very fast and already / Now he's far away and vulnerable / It could be that I can't be without you / Ask me something...”

I love the low-slung semi-breakdown, where Arzalez’s melodic, lightly rapping voice rides over the sparkling piano, imbuing the tune with alluring coloration.

With “Preguntame Algo,” Arzalez delivers mesmerizing reggaeton flavored with scrumptious relishes of scintillating surface timbres.
