With their galvanizing visceral sound, The Elected Officials take aim at “the machinations and madness of greedy, toxic corporations, consumer society, and not-so-hallow religion – they also focus on everyday DIY efforts to rebuild the future based on both resistance and participation.”

In other words, in keeping with anarcho-political punk bravura, The Elected Officials are ferocious, impulsive, and reckless, taking naught on blind faith. Instead, they question everything and give no quarter to corrupt institutions and gerrymandering politicians.

According to the band, “In Trumpian times, when sides have been polarized, moods darkened, and lurking violence potentially possible around every comment and glare, the band harnesses discontent, hooks some humor into it, and places it into a global vision of a people struggling for change, like an actual thousand points of light-emitting a soundtrack of punk that extends well beyond borders and fears.”

The juxtaposition of Sophie’s surly, prowling tones atop the tumescent throbbing cadence gives the tune fulminating oomph.

Fronted by the snarling vocals of Sophie Rousmaniere, The Elected Officials push out punishing punk full of vicious energy, raw and uncooked soundscapes of undiluted intensity.

“Death For Sale” opens on rampaging drums supporting grinding muscular guitars rife with grimy textures. Sophie’s sneering impudent tones infuse the lyrics with blazing wrath, exasperation, and beaucoup honest exposition.

“We got bombs we got tanks / We got nukes, We got death for sale / We’re the biggest arms dealer / In the world, on a global scale / Export death, import fear / It’s great for our economy / The world’s cop just a / Bad lieutenant and we’re in decay.”

A cavernous vibrating bassline, along with Pennington’s berserk popping snare, injects the driving rhythm with an aura of wicked lethality, pulsing with titanic impetus. The juxtaposition of Sophie’s surly, prowling tones atop the tumescent throbbing cadence gives the tune fulminating oomph.

The Elected Officials have it going on, churning out visceral, brawny sonic waves of impudent fury, all crowned by Sophie’s sassy, sneering voice.
