According to the band, “’Reaction’ is about staying true to yourself. No one can take away the feeling of doing something you love.”

Made up of Liam O’Sullivan (vocals), Andrew Billone (guitar, vocals), Nick Slagter (guitar), Mike Park (bass), and Bryan Mostert (drums), Silvertone Hills’ sound blends ‘60s pop savors with jangly guitars and contagious rhythms.

Previous releases include Follow Suit and Running in Circles, along with performances at The Horseshoe, Mills Hardware, Lee’s Palace, and Warehouse, along with shows in Montreal and Kingston.

Canadian Beats described their 2018 EP thus: “Their release Follow Suit sounds like it could have been a love-child from some of the band’s most influential artists; the lyrical potential of Oasis meets the instrumental potential of Queens of the Stone Age…Start listening to Silvertone Hills so you can be one of those ‘I heard them before they made it big’ listeners. That’s what I’m doing.”

The harmonics ramp-up to elevated textures on the chorus, pervaded by coruscating resonance and radiant vocal harmonies.

Once the coronavirus pandemic is history, the band will hit the road, touring throughout Canada, as well as performing at major summer music festivals. Renowned for their high-octane, electrifying live shows, Silvertone Hills is definitely worth the price of a ticket.

“Reaction” opens on potent jangly guitars pulsing with galvanizing sheens of color, as O’Sullivan’s tasty voice glides overhead, infusing the lyrics with surging, beguiling tones. The harmonics ramp-up to elevated textures on the chorus, pervaded by coruscating resonance and radiant vocal harmonies. Imagine the heady dynamics of The Kinks amalgamated with the contemporary pop flavors of The Killers, with dollops of cerebral R.E.M. tossed in for good measure, and you’ll have an idea of just how magnetic Silvertone Hill’s sound is.

“No one can tell us different / No one can make it stop.”

“Reaction” delivers the goods: surging, gleaming guitars, an infectious rhythm, sparkles of pop-rock energy, and smooth, deluxe vocals.
