Eaton Super 10’s release comes with a comic infomercial – “Music You Can Hear!” The infomercial features members of Lilys, Maroon 5, Surfer Blood, Spacemen 3, Atreyu, The War on Drugs, Collapsing Scenery, and comedian Gregg Turkington, along with others.

Snowball ii’s head honcho, Jackson Wargo, played most of the instruments on the EP, along with doing all the producing and mixing. According to Wargo, “Making that dumb infomercial was way more work than making the record.”

Wargo recruited Annie Hardy to provide backing vocals on Eaton Super 10. In addition to singing, Hardy directed the music video for “Lost in Juarez,” the first single from the EP, while artist Stephen “ESPO” Powers spray painted the EP’s cover on a wall in Philadelphia. The release part for Eaton Super 10 will take place at The Resident in L.A., on May 4, with performances by Neil Hamburger, assorted special guests, like Mambo Jombo Jazz Combo, Jason Lerman, and, of course, Snowball ii.

“Lost in Juarez” opens on shimmering layers of sound, and then drops into a low-slung melody that once again escalates to celestial heights and dazzling sonic heft.

Comprising five-tracks, the EP begins with “What Pressure?,” riding a dream-pop-flavored new wave melody made up of vibrant guitars, rolling percussion, and dreamy, creamy vocals. Rising and falling resonance infuses the tune with spurts of dazzling colors and radiant harmonies.

“The Air In The Meantime” flows on scrumptious washes of shoegaze energy topped by soaring vocals, and sparkling guitar accents. The wall-of-sound dimension of the harmonics is marvelously contagious. “Lost in Juarez” opens on shimmering layers of sound, and then drops into a low-slung melody that once again escalates to celestial heights and dazzling sonic heft. I love the lustrous vocal harmonies filling in the backdrop, glowing with electrifying timbres.

“Spring Breaks Eternal” features reverb heavy guitars schmoozing with delicious flavors, as soaring waves of sound bathe the soundscape in thick groundswells of pressure. “Which Way to the Egress?” travels on a massively surging shoegaze tune, rife with bushy guitars and towering vocals.

Eaton Super 10 gushes with potent layers of color, compelling flows of sonic impetus, and yummy mounting harmonies.
