“Smog City” is the latest single off the band’s forthcoming album, Season 2, recorded at Hollywood’s Elephant In the Room studio under the guidance of Grammy-nominated engineer Mark Needham, who has worked with Fleetwood Mac, Imagine Dragons, Bloc Party, and the Killers.

Made up of brothers Keaton Rogers and Kacey Greenwood, along with Ryan Weiss, Raised On TV’s genesis occurred when the brothers attended a show featuring Green Day and Blink-182. After the show, the brothers abandoned their budding acting careers to pursue music. The band originated in a garage, playing fuzzed-out songs that were easy on the ears. Once the trio comprehended their sound went beyond good, they decided to get down to business. Before long, they had released an EP, a full-length album, and toured extensively, sharing the stage with Jefferson Starship and Marcy Playground.

The band is presently preparing to hit the road for 2019’s Off the Couch Summer Tour.

The best part of the video is when the band appears in the backseat dressed as party girls.

“Smog City” opens on a dirty emerging guitar, followed by the rumbling roll of the drums, as Keaton’s sonorous tenor, flavored with velvety textures, glides over the melody. Infused with gleaming colors, the alt-rock tune reflects tints of alt-pop surface hues. A soaring wailing guitar injects tight penetrating tones, adding intense sizzling depth and dimension to the harmonics.

The video, directed by Keaton Rogers and his sister, actress Victoria Greenwood, takes viewers on a trip through the streets of So-Cal in the middle of the night. Opening with the three members of the band sitting in the back of a cab, the visuals display the assortment of characters the driver picks up over the course of the evening, ranging from a mustached man with his cat in a carrier to a weird and wonderful hippie couple. All the characters are played by the band.

The best part of the video is when the band appears in the backseat dressed as party girls. One of them gets sick and heaves out the window, sending the other two into a tizzy.

With “Smog City,” Raised On TV offer a potent melody, contagious rhythm, and smooth vocals, as well as a trippy, engaging video.
